People power of conscience and non-violent persistence breaks morally bankrupt politicians.The problem is politicians like Justin Trudeau. They don’t decide on fairness, justice, and moral responsibility, but on the basis of popularity and votes. Sufficient voices will make them do what they should have done in the first place. And at the next election vote him and his party out: voting governments out keeps the next one a little more cautious. Make Justin Trudeau pay at the next elections, #Canada. Lest we forget, and applies to all countries. Moral of the story: do not trust politicians but your conscience; be fair, do the right thing, and justice, peace, and fairness can prevail.

Yesterday, the Green Party of England and Wales leadership and our Global Solidarity spokesperson, Carne Ross, wrote a letter to Foreign Secretary James Cleverly and Shadow Foreign Secretary David Lammy, urging them both to join the growing international calls for an immediate ceasefire.The scenes unfolding in Israel and Gaza are heart-wrenching. Civilian casualties are mounting at an alarming rate - over 700 civilians killed daily, including a child every ten minutes. The dire humanitarian situation is clearly intolerable and must end.The notion that current violence could in any way justify or prevent future violence is not just flawed; it's morally indefensible. The lives of children cannot be bartered in this way.We are deeply concerned that neither the UK government nor the official opposition has joined international calls for a ceasefire. It is with deep regret that the Green Party feels the need to point out that at times like these, silence is complicity.We strongly urge the government and The Labour Party to listen to the British people. We (Canadians) need a mechanism, other than elections, to correct 'elections' malfunction, to rid ourselves of the now typical political circus of "bait & switch ". This is a manmade disaster created by the Israeli government, and sending lethal assistance to Israel breaks international and U.S. laws and will require additional humanitarian aid to Palestinians in Gaza. A ceasefire is the bare minimum action and according to Data for Progress, 66% of likely voters agree the U.S. should call for a ceasefire and pursue de-escalation. The time to act is now.
